The heroine encounters the life of an ordinary police officer before the first corpse
2 The Call to Adventure
The heroine encounters the first corpse, a dead man by the railway tracks, and she waves the train to a halt to preserve the evidence
3 Refusal
The hero invites the heroine to help solve the case, but the heroine refuses because she thinks that just an ordinary police officer does not have the ability and experience to investigate important cases
PART 2 Supreme Ordeal/Initiation
4 Mentor Helper
The hero tells the heroine how to collect various information at the scene when the second body – an old woman – is found
5 Crossing the Threshold
The hero asks the heroine to cut off the victim’s arm during the investigation of the second victim’s scene, and the heroine breaks down on the spot as a result; but eventually she accepts the task and considers herself up to it
6 Test/Allies/Enemies
The heroine returns to the hero to continue the case, and the hero apologises to her for the previous problem
PART 3 Unification/Transformation
7 Approach
The heroine, along with the hero and the carer, pieced together the clues to discover that it was the publisher of a book and found the book that the culprit had used as a reference for the crime
8 Ordeal
The sheriff did not allow the hero and heroine to continue investigating the keys and took away all the evidence
9 Reward
The heroine saved the little girl of the pair of victims
PART 4 Road Back/Hero’s Return
10 Road Back
The heroine discovered that the real target of the culprit was the hero and immediately rushed back
11 Atonement
To learn that the motive of the real culprit was
12 Return
The hero and heroine return to their lives after the case is over, the hero gives up suicide and they spend Christmas together with their families
