WEEK1 NUKE

Term aim:

  • Exposure to a wider range of 3D projects
  • Use more cg in our shot
  • Use more key node

WHAT WE DO IN THIS CLASS SPECIFIC

I think the main content of our lesson is to invert the camera position and reconstruct the 3D scene in the frame through the shot.

Step 1: Dealing with lens distortion

We have two different way to deal with it.Automatic and manual way.

Automatic way:

We use the lensDisortion to correct the shot
Then click the detect in node
Last step to click the solve

Manual way:

Draw four lines along the line inside the screen with the Bessel tool (important! because without four lines it cannot be counted) and then draw an extra line.

If our computer does not support such a huge calculation: we can choose to use STMap to replace complex pixel representations by simple colours:

Step 2: Get to know the 3D scenes in NUKE.

Let’s go through a very simple scenario to understand the basic nodes. We learned about the camera and simple graphics production in 3D and how to read them.

The nodes
What it look like

Then we started working with more complex scenes, adding lighting ,materials and how to import models or cameras from outside.

How to inport from outside
Adding lighting ,materials

Step 3: 3d analysis and location tracking in a live shot

The first step is always to analyse the shot
To set up the cameraTracker
Set the track points number
To delete the bad point
Set the origin
Set the ground

NUKE homework Update

For the mobile project, I talked about finger re-roto. because I found that the motion blur caused some of the green on the edges to show up, so I narrowed down the roto.

For the hot air balloon project, as I was out drinking coke thought of a very interesting thing. It was to add my favorite coke to the hot air balloon project. Therefore.

  1. I photographed the glass bottle of Coke as the material.
  2. I used MAYA to create the Coke glass bottle and processed the material.
  3. I tried to use MAYA’s FX function to create the shaken liquid and render it.
  4. I used NUKE for the overall editing.

WEEK10 NUKE

This session focuses on the workflow and environment of a special effects artist, explaining the daily reporting and what various people in different positions do.

WEEK9 NUKE

This lesson introduces the concept of depth and uses some nodes to control the lens focus and halo.
Then we used rotopaint to clone and paint roto. and looked at some examples.

WEEK8 NUKE

The nodes talked about in this lesson are actually about the logic of the operation of nuke itself, so there are multi-pixel units to calculate and discuss. But I didn’t understand a part of it, posting that I didn’t understand the changes brought about by the order of those calculations, and I think I will re-read the course afterwards l

WEEK7 NUKE Homework

The video is too big to upload, but I uploaded the folder given by the teacher

I made the internal content of the phone and made keyframes for movement and transparency, and also recreated the finger roto.
But I would like my phone to do the screen when unlocked to move upwards, but I haven’t solved this problem completely yet. I think I can make another material outside of the phone content to do the same thing and keyframe it for movement, but I’m not quite sure how to tie the two together. But I think I’ll keep trying to make it perfect over the Christmas break.

My hot air balloon project was a lot of fun. I first separated the sky from the mountain and then added the jellyfish guys to the sky. After that I roto a small bird material and deducted the sky from the material by keylight and placed it on the edge of the mountain. Next I added two hot air balloon clips! One of them I zoomed in on the bottom right corner and blurred it. The other one I placed in the distance and blurred the edge of the balloon with roto. Finally I added a lemon clip, which I thought would be interesting.

WEEK7 NUKE

In this lesson we are doing lens smoothing, we generate a stabilizer by tracking and then make the lens stable
