Should animation be used in documentaries, and what kind of documentary can be called an animated documentary? Also the teacher showed many case studies. At the end of the class we will analyze an animated documentary and discuss some questions.
For the mobile project, I talked about finger re-roto. because I found that the motion blur caused some of the green on the edges to show up, so I narrowed down the roto.
For the hot air balloon project, as I was out drinking coke thought of a very interesting thing. It was to add my favorite coke to the hot air balloon project. Therefore.
This session focuses on the workflow and environment of a special effects artist, explaining the daily reporting and what various people in different positions do.
This week we added tongues to people, and then our teacher had us do some rendering setups. This allowed us to render the person and create post effects.
In the meantime I fixed some of the problems that came up in the last lesson, so now I can animate! It doesn’t work very well but it’s moving!
This session will focus on Q&A and standard paper formatting, such as font, spacing, citation, etc.
In week 8 we covered the requirements in specific critical writing, such as the use of some specific vocabulary and the structure of paragraphs. The teacher also divided us into small groups to discuss and take turns coming over to help us with points of confusion. But the main focus was on specific formatting issues.
This lesson introduces the concept of depth and uses some nodes to control the lens focus and halo.
Then we used rotopaint to clone and paint roto. and looked at some examples.
The main thing we did this week was to import a movie and its corresponding audio in maya, and then use this movie to create a face animation against it.
I divided the class into three parts, in the first part we recorded the video with obs and then rendered it into a frame-by-frame JPEG in AE. we also exported a wave audio file.
The second part was to import the JPEG into the MAYA shot reference, but it’s worth mentioning that we didn’t import the video directly, but imported the image and then adjusted it to identify the sequence frames.
The third part is to k-frame the mouthpiece and skeleton according to the already created and reference image.
I had super problems with this class! It started out with me not being able to adjust my mouth open and shut through my bones. I thought at first it was because of the weights, then I realized I couldn’t even adjust the weights. But after the instructor helped me reopen it all worked out naturally, so I haven’t found out exactly what it is until now.
Then I noticed that whenever I tried to sculpt maya would flash back! So I couldn’t make my expressions. Then I deleted all the timelines I had made because I realized that it was making maya calculate more than the computer could handle.
The last thing I noticed was that my expressions were very distorted, but I guess that was a weighting issue. But no matter how I adjust it, it’s ugly.
